Petroleum products company Enemed has invested €15 million in a new storage facility for aviation fuel at Malta International Airport.
The investment will lead to the phasing out of current storage facilities at Wied Dalam.

Speaking at its inauguration by Prime Minister Robert Abela, Enemed Chairman and CEO Kevin Chircop explained that the facility is linked to 8km of pipelines which will provide direct supply from tankers, while up till now, the airport has depended on a single pipeline linked to the Wied Dalam storage.
Among the features of the new facility are digital control systems aimed at reducing human intervention and ensuring faster response in case of accidents.
