Edward Montebello is set to take over the leadership of Partit Laburista’s (PL) media operations from Monday 21st September, following his appointment as Chairman of the board of directors of ONE and Head of Communications for the Labour Party.
In a statement, the Labour Party said the appointments would further consolidate important work within the party’s media leadership, ensuring that its message continues to reach the public in the clearest possible way.
Mr Montebello brings almost 20 years of experience in broadcasting and media. He spent 13 years working in ONE’s newsroom, where he served as Deputy Head, Head of News and Station Editor.
For the past four years, he has served as Head of Communications within the Office of the Prime Minister with Samuel Lucas taking over this role from 7th September.
Mr Montebello holds degrees in history and education and has also worked as a teacher. Throughout his broadcasting career, he has produced and presented several television and radio programmes and documentaries.
The Labour Party also thanked Silvio Scerri and Norma Saliba for their service as Chairman of ONE and Head of Communications for the Labour Party respectively.
