Economist JP Fabri has received regulatory approval for his appointment as Independent Non-Executive Director at LifeStar Insurance plc.

An economist by profession, Mr Fabri is also a co-Founding Partner of Seed Consultancy, a boutique advisory firm, as well as CEO of Insignia Group. He has amassed local and international experience both in the private and public sector.

Mr Fabri followed post-graduate studies in economics and political economy at the University of Malta and the London School of Economics.

His research interests include blockchain, governance and economic resilience and he has also published internationally. Further, Mr Fabri is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta on the economics of blockchain.

LifeStar Insurance, formerly Global Capital, has been present in Malta under the latter name for around 60 years as country representative for Bupa. The company came under new ownership in 2015, and in 2020, it rebranded to LifeStar. It’s CEO and Managing Director is Cristina Casingena, an actuary with over 25 years’ experience in the life insurance industry.
