David Abela joined EuroBridge Shipping Services Ltd as a Customs Clearance Executive in June 1998 and was promoted to Operations and Marketing Manager in December of the following year.

"Demonstrating great dedication to the company and a willingness to keep on learning the trade, in August 2000, at the age of 22, I acquired a major part of the company shareholding to become one of the youngest Managing Directors in Malta."

Two decades later, EuroBridge is one of the leading logistics and freight forwarding companies in Malta, with its own fleet of trailers offering regular and established groupage and full load services throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

"I have also worked with a local transporter, and so have been involved in all elements of the freight forwarding industry. Achieving a Diploma in Transport and Logistics Studies (MCILT), and now my 25 years’ experience in the shipping and logistics sectors has assisted me in being able to transmit to the EuroBridge team the aim to being what our motto states, the “logistics people to count on.”

Mr Abela continues: “In the last years due to the trust shown by our customers in our service, we have increased our operations drastically, and therefore we have been investing in engaging further people in our team including the role of CEO. This assisted me to enhance my role as a Director by focusing on our network of agents and business development.”

Mr Abela attributes his dedicated and disciplined character to the secondary level education he received at St Aloysius College between 1989 and 1994.
