Dizz Group has announced that the transfer of its long-term lease agreement with Sliema Wanderers for D Mall is approaching its final stages, with the buyer having secured funding and transferred the funds to be held in escrow.

The group confirmed that the proceeds from the transaction would be used to repay an €8 million bond issued by Dizz Finance plc set to mature on 7th October 2026.

The sale of the lease agreement was first announced in July 2025, with an April 2026 update confirming that the deal would be proceeding.

The latest announcement indicates that the deal is now close to being finalised.

In comments made to this newsroom in May, CEO Diane Izzo said the group’s popular outlets will nonetheless continue to operate at D Mall after it secured a 20-year agreement to ensure its continued retail presence.

“Our outlets, along with others, previously paid rent to one of our subsidiaries – D Shopping Malls – which held the long-term lease over the site and sub-let the various areas,” she said.

“What has changed is that the long-term lease has now been transferred, meaning that each outlet now pays rent directly to the new leaseholder.”
