Risk management specialist Dina Quraishi has been named Non-Executive Director at MeDirect Bank and MDB Group Limited, subject to and effective upon regulatory approval.
Andrew Wynn, whose preliminary appointment for the position was announced by MeDirect Bank in April, decided to withdraw from consideration for the role due to personal reasons.
Ms Quraishi will also serve as Chair of the Board Risk Committee and will be a member of the Board Audit Committee.
She has 29 years of experience in risk, enterprise resilience, IT, and cyber matters, with an in-depth focus in areas of payments, engineering, insurance, reinsurance, consulting, and general financial services. Ms Quraishi is currently providing consulting services in areas related to governance, resilience, cyber and strategic risk management, as well as internal controls at Solvo Partners.
Prior to this, she served as Chief Risk Officer at Belgium-based financial services company SWIFT and Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management at engineering company Sandvik at its Stockholm operations for over a year.
Before joining Sandvik, Ms Quraishi held a number of risk and project management positions at insurance firms Zurich Insurance and Swiss Re.
She holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from University College London and a Master of Business Administration from Simon Business School University of Rochester. Ms Quraishi describes herself as an “effective motivator and communicator at all levels” while also being “adept in challenging and working with executives and boards”.
