Trust Stamp, a company providing AI-powered identity verification services, has appointed David Grima as Director of Product Innovation.
Dr Grima has been with Trust Stamp since August 2020, and formerly served as Research Lead with the company.
Taking to social media to make the announcement, he said he is “immensely proud and grateful” for “this wonderful journey at Trust Stamp.
Dr Grima is a qualified medical doctor. After completing his foundation years at Mater Dei Hospital, he joined University of London’s Queen Mary campus in Gozo as a Clinical Teaching Fellow.
However, just over one year later, he left medicine completely to join Trust Stamp, which provides biometric-based security systems based on their patented technology across the US, Europe, Asia and Africa.
The product range offered by Trust Stamp uses technology and artificial intelligence to enable banks and other institutions to verify customer credentials.
The company established a research and development team in Malta after securing a deal with Malta Enterprise in 2020.
The technology that is being researched and developed in Malta is used by highly regulated industries and international financial institutions such as MasterCard.
Last year, Trust Stamp became the first tech start-up with a Malta base to be listed on the NASDAQ
