Corinthia Group is mourning the loss of Alexandra Bonnici, who died alongside her husband and close friends when their car plunged into the sea in Croatia last week.
The two Maltese couples – Jeremy and Lorraine Gambin and Kevin and Sandra Bonnici – were reported to be lifelong friends, travelling together for over 30 years.
“The shocking loss of Alexandra Bonnici, affectionately known as Sandra or Sandy to those close to her, has deeply affected many of her former colleagues at Corinthia,” the company said in a statement.
It continued: “Throughout her career, she worked successfully in various roles within Corinthia Palace, Marina, Mistra Village and Head Office Accounts Department,” adding that she was also an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the Corinthia Social Committee.

One colleague described the incident as an extremely shocking loss and expressed hope that Sandra’s family finds comfort in the love she shared and the lasting impact of her kindness.
