Sparkasse Bank Malta plc was established in 2000 and holds five licenses to act as a credit institution (MFSA), an investment firm offering advisory and non-advisory services (MFSA), depositary and custodian to funds in Malta (MFSA), depositary to funds in Ireland operating through its branch in Dublin (Central Bank Ireland) and custodian to retirement and pension schemes (MFSA).

With its headquarters is in Malta it has a branch in Ireland and IT offices in Tyrol, Austria.

The bank focuses on providing relationship banking and investment support services to corporate and private customers as well as providing a full suite of investment services to funds locally and in Ireland. It is is one of the larger custodian and depository banks in Malta with over €7 billion worth of assets under custody and seeks to continue to grow and develop this line of business locally and within the EU.
