Cluster Senior Sales Manager Nicoló Rocchia on Sunday shared that he has left InterContinental Malta and IHG Hotels & Resorts Group following seven years at the hotel company.
He bid farewell last Friday, his last official workday, an occasion that left him feeling a mix of “nostalgia, gratitude and excitement”.
“Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege of being part of an exceptional team, and I am truly grateful for every opportunity and experience that InterContinental and IHG has provided me,” he said.
Mr Rocchia added: “From the moment I walked through the doors of InterContinental, I knew I had found a second home. The vibrant and dynamic environment, coupled with the warm and supportive culture, created the perfect recipe for personal and professional growth.”
He remarked that the company has not only “nurtured” his skills in the hospitality industry but has also “shaped” him into the individual he is today. He expressed gratitude to the various people he had the pleasure of working with over the years, as the friendships and connections he formed are “invaluable” and he will continue to cherish them as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr Rocchia said that he is “humbled by the opportunities” the hotel entrusted him with, from joining as a Front Office Agent in 2016, to “leading high-profile projects” and representing the company at international conferences in Europe, UK and USA, as every challenge has pushed him to exceed his own expectations. During his time at InterContinental, he also worked as Guest Relations Manager and Key Account Executive, among other positions.
“The unwavering support and trust from my colleagues and mentors have been instrumental in my growth and success,” he continued.

As he progresses onto his next step, he said that he will apply the knowledge and skilled he acquired during his time at InterContinental to “new endeavours”.
“While I will miss the daily interactions and the vibrant energy of this incredible organisation, I am confident that the relationships I have built here will endure beyond my departure. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to stay connected and continue collaborating with the amazing professionals I have had the pleasure of working with,” Mr Rocchia explained.
He proceeded to thank everyone at the hotel and IHG as a whole for the “unwavering support, guidance and friendship” throughout his journey, as it was an “honour and a privilege to contribute to the success of this organisation”.
“As I embark on this new chapter, I am excited about the future and the endless possibilities that lie ahead,” he said, before adding that he looks forward to remaining connected with everyone at the organisation.
Mr Rocchia described his seven years there as “unforgettable”, before concluding with: “Here’s to the memories we have created and the new adventures that await!”
Aside from his time at InterContinental and IHG, he also has experience as a Guest Service Agent at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Florence, Italy and Dogmersfield, UK. He holds a Bachelor of Tourism in Tourism and Travel Services Management from University of Turin.
