APS Bank Chairman, Frederick Mifsud Bonnici inaugurated the APS Hub in St. Julian’s earlier this month.
Designed for the community, the space offers modern facilities with WiFi connectivity for meetings, lectures, exhibitions and events of a public or social nature.
In line with the Bank’s philosophy of community involvement, the site also show-cases the it’s sustainable approach, as featured in elements of the furniture and décor. Fr Claude Portelli, Parish Priest of St Julian’s, blessed the premises.
During this event APS launched ‘Connecting Communities’, a photography exhibition aimed at raising awareness on how people can come together to create positive change and celebrating the community spirit.
Photos were selected through a competition with the adjudication carried out by a jury presided by Mr Frederick Micallef, who also said a few words about the entries before presenting the winners with their awards.
First place went to Mario Cucciardi for his photo ‘In Line’, while Jeffrey Cassar claimed second prize for this photo title ‘Finishing Strong’. Third prize was awarded to Melvin Bugeja for his photo titled ‘Piazza Lighting’. Winning images are also featured in the Bank’s 2020 Calendar.
The APS Hub is located at Spinola Bay, Triq Mikiel Ang Borg and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00hrs and 17:00hrs. Visit the exhibition and make use of the venue for free by booking online on hub.apsbank.com.mt.
