Starting off with natural nut butters, MUNCH A BUNCH has evolved to offer vegan snacks, treats and cakes in two short years since its inception, slowly making a name for itself among the health conscious on the islands.

With the help and support of her family and partner, owner Rebecca Camilleri has grown the brand into a legitimate business and continues to have high aspirations for its future.

Here is its story so far.

Who is the person behind MUNCH A BUNCH? Can you give us a little background about you?

“MUNCH A BUNCH was founded by myself, Rebecca Camilleri – a 25-year old, born and raised in Malta, who follows an active and healthy lifestyle. MUNCH A BUNCH wouldn’t be possible without the help of my partner Sam and supporting family who constantly push me to keep giving my best.”

How did the idea for MUNCH A BUNCH come about, and how did it all start?

“MUNCH A BUNCH was created just over two years ago from a simple wish for a healthy nut butter. When I became health conscious, I realized that most products that were available included ingredients that were unnecessary. That is when I started experimenting in the kitchen and MUNCH A BUNCH was created. Starting off with natural nut butters, my brand has now evolved to vegan snacks, treats and cakes!”

Can you tell me a little bit about the development of the brand since you launched? Did you always have different products in mind, or was it a gradual evolution?

“My brand started off with natural nut butters, but I instantly got inspired to create healthy vegan snacks. I also re-created some favourites like healthy snickers bars, chocolate spread and Baci cake. My brand is still evolving as it’s important to keep creating new products and offering different healthy alternatives.”

Can you tell me about the process of creating MUNCH A BUNCH products?

“It all starts from an idea that comes to my mind in the middle of the night. The next step would be writing down recipes and testing them in the kitchen. Tasting every batch and making adjustments along the way. Sometimes recipes take a couple of days to finalize, but in some cases, I’ve spent up to six months testing and perfecting.”

Has the brand been impacted by COVID-19? If so, how?

“Like many other local businesses, MUNCH A BUNCH was significantly impacted by COVID-19. However, the generosity shown was greatly appreciated, even though everyone was passing through an unstable time.”

What are your future plans for MUNCH A BUNCH?

“My goal is to become well known as one of Malta’s brands that provides healthy products and hopefully even go international one day!”
