Sue Pisani joined Studio7, the company founded by her father, Jo Debono, in 1995, observing what others did and learning how she could be of use to them by assisting in whatever they did. At the same time, she started an online Human Resources Management Diploma to help her with the day-to-day exposure within the team.

“Along the journey,” she explains, “I joined the technical team to be able to understand how audio-visual equipment functioned, assisting with setting up and operating equipment during events. Getting my hands dirty was the only way I knew how to learn and improve on processes I determined needed attention.”

Any administrative task required she learned, allowing her to step into any department that needed to have a position filled. Eventually, she settled in the Conference & Events Department and grew within the unit, which was and still is the largest unit.

“Once my parents started planning their retirement and family succession plans started being discussed, a process to decide who will be taking over kicked off, leading me to occupy a management role which evolved into being appointed Managing Director. In this role, I have spearheaded the company’s efforts to change and adapt to the challenges encountered along the years,” Ms Pisani says.

Her experience varies from project management, financial and media production to logistics and operations. In fact, for a fond client of hers, her name is Suelutions.

She also serves as treasurer of the Congress Rental Network.
