Business Profile

I joined Studioseven, the company founded by my father, Jo Debono, in 1995. I began by observing, supporting colleagues across departments, and learning how I could add value wherever needed. At the same time, I pursued a Diploma in Human Resources Management to better understand team dynamics and day-to-day operations.

Keen to gain hands-on experience, I joined the technical team to understand how audio-visual equipment functioned, assisting with setup and operating equipment during events. Getting my hands dirty was the most effective way to learn and identify areas for improvement. I also took on administrative responsibilities as required, developing the flexibility to step into any department when needed, whether to cover maternity leave, sick leave, or other operational gaps common in any business.

Over time, I settled in the Conference & Events department, which remains the company’s strongest unit, and continued to grow within it. As my parents began planning their retirement, a structured family succession plan was implemented, leading to my appointment to senior management and eventually to the role of Managing Director. In this capacity, I have led the company’s efforts to evolve and adapt over the years.

My experience spans project management, show calling, media production, and operations. For one long-standing client, this versatility earned me the nickname “Suelutions.”

I also served for several years as Treasurer of the Congress Rental Network.
