Starting with a career at one of the major international telecommunications companies, Robert Cassar has, under his belt, experience in marketing, corporate business development and sales roles. However, he grew into being responsible for managing the supply chain.

“Having been responsible for the supply chain within a multi-national company always assisted me in being very sensitive and understanding the challenges importers and exports face day to day. So, when I moved to the local postal service provider to lead the Business Relations and International Relations teams, I worked with our team to remain focused on what solutions our business customers needed,” he asserts. Here, Mr Cassar spearheaded the organisation’s growth in eCommerce while handling relationships with both domestic and international business customers.

In 2021, Mr Cassar moved to EuroBridge as its first designated CEO. There he continues to focus on bringing logistics solutions to customers primarily within Freight Forwarding and Warehousing. With ever changing dynamics triggered by repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic and the tragic conflict in Ukraine, more importers and exporters across the globe are facing challenges with sourcing raw and basic materials. “This is more so for those businesses operating in Malta, due to the scale of the local market and due to being an island,” Mr Cassar continues.

For Mr Cassar, in 2023, EuroBridge’s main strategy will continue to be that of being a solution provider to Maltese businesses looking for ways to run an efficient business in such an environment.

Mr Cassar has an MBA degree from Anglia Ruskin University (ARU, Cambridge) and received several awards during his career. He is also a visiting lecturer and mentor at a number of colleges and universities at MBA and MSc level.
