Coming from a finance background, having spent 15 years in PwC, including seven in their Milan office, in Italy, Matthew Ellul Sullivan heads the corporate and finance division of Sullivan Shipping Agencies Ltd. He is actively involved in the strategic planning and business development of the company.

Mr Ellul Sullivan is Deputy Chairman of J.B. Sorotto Ltd, an associated group company involved in ship registration and related corporate services.

He served as a council member of the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry for the last four years and also as Chairman of the Services Providers Economic Group.

“I sit on the Council of the Association of Ship Agents and the Malta Employers’ Association and, in February 2013, was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea,” Mr Ellul Sullivan says.

The Sullivan family has been active in various sectors of the maritime industry as early as 1888. Thus, its experience spans the height of the steam ship era in the late 19th century, which revolutionised the carriage of passengers and cargo, to the large ocean liners/carriers and highly specialised vessels that characterise today’s global trade.
