Apart from his role as Non-Executive Chairman of MAPFRE Middlesea Insurance plc, Malta’s largest insurance company, Martin Galea also sits on the audit, remuneration and compliance committees.

In addition, he is a Director of MAPFRE MSV Life, a subsidiary of Middlesea Insurance, which is the largest provider of life insurance in Malta and has over €1 billion in investments under management. He chairs the company’s audit committee.

“The environment is among my outside interests and I have been active in this field for about 25 years, mainly in the National Trust Din l-Art Ħelwa, a voluntary organisation, which lobbies for the natural and historical heritage.

“Apart from mountain biking, I enjoy reading, walking, European films, any kind of music and endless discussions with friends on almost any issue, preferably over a meal with wine,” Mr Galea says.
