Together with his brother, John Magro took over the running of the family business in 1977 and built a diversified group of 20 companies in sectors ranging from food processing and importation to retailing, real estate and construction.

“I was instrumental in the building of a 27,000-square-metre food factory complex.

“We pioneered in Malta voluntary third-party food safety certification. The organisation holds ISO 22000 certification and an AA plus level grade in the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety,” he proudly says.

The organisation was established in 1916 when three Magro brothers decided to join their father who was already a leading general provision merchant.
