“Joining TradeMalta as Chief Executive Officer in 2015, I helped shape the trade promotion strategy which supports Malta-based businesses to internationalise and become export-ready,” Anton Buttigieg explains.

“We also pride ourselves in encouraging businesses to reach out of their comfort zone and establish new partnerships in non-traditional markets,” he adds.

Mr Buttigieg holds an Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Malta and a Master’s Degree in International Economics and Marketing from the SDA Bocconi School of Management, in Milan specialising in industry analysis.

He served as an Economist with the Central Bank of Malta, Management Consultant at MISCO, Business Development and Administration Manager at Panta Marketing & Services Ltd and Director at Business leaders Malta before moving to TradeMalta.

A dedicated team of professionals at TradeMalta, which was formed as a public-private partnership between the government and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, provides a wide-ranging portfolio of services that caters for different modes of entry within specific markets.
