"Leadership is catalyst especially during times of change but change is not possible if the leader is not followed by his team to deliver that change,” Dana Farrugia asserts.

She was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tech.mt in April 2019, the same year it was established in a partnership between the Government of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry to promote the national strategy for technology and innovation.

“I am engaged in ensuring sector growth for technology and innovation, primarily focusing on AI, blockchain, IOT, cloud services, data analytics, software development, robotics, cyber security and research on innovative solutions,” she explains.

Ms Farrugia has served as a Director of Malta Enterprise since 2017 and of the Malta Start-up Foundation since 2018.

Before joining Tech.mt, she worked in the telecoms industry for 14 years and also at the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses.
