A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of Café del Mar in St Paul’s Bay on Wednesday night (yesterday), temporarily halting one of the Malta Music Week’s events.
The bomb threat, received around 9 PM, triggered an immediate response from the Malta Police Force and the Armed Forces of Malta who evacuated the venue and conducted a thorough search.
By approximately 2AM, authorities confirmed that no explosives or devices were found on site.
The event at Café del Mar was scheduled to feature the Australian DJ duo NERVO; however, the artists reportedly missed their flight and did not perform. Despite their absence, the party was set to proceed until the evacuation was ordered.
Malta Music Week is a series of music events across the island, kicking off with the Isle of MTV concert in Floriana last Tuesday. Upcoming events include performances this Friday at Gianpula and on Saturday at the Toy Room Club and Toy Room Beach in Sliema on Sunday.
