Last week, La Buona Trattoria del Nonno received a delivery of 200kg local tuna fish caught specifically for the restaurant by the fishermen of Azzopardi Fisheries.

In a video posted on Facebook, a large-scale tuna can be seen iced and ready for the restaurant to transform into mouth-watering Mediterranean dishes.

Featured in the video, CEO Ben Muscat Senior, hailed the more than 50-year relationship that he and his restaurants have built with the fishermen and the company that provide them with fresh produce.

Many people were amazed at the catch and the freshness of the tuna.

Located in St Paul’s Bay, La Buona Trattoria del Nonno opened its doors in 2012 under Mr Muscat, who is also behind the popular Ta’ Marija Restaurant and il-Pescatore, among others.

The restaurant focuses on Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Despite Mr Muscat’s active presence in the company, his grandchildren are more involved in the daily operations as they continue in their grandparents’ footsteps.
