Popular eatery Danny’s was this week celebrating four years in operation.
Its Owner and Head Chef, JP Debono, speaks to WhosWho.mt to reflect on the period, which saw the establishment rocked by COVID, before emerging from the pandemic at new highs – “exceeding expectations.”
Since its foundation, the company, which operates from an outlet on the Mriehel Bypass in Qormi, has grown in stature and popularity, with customers coming to love its meals for their fusing of elements from snack bar-esque comfort food and high-brow culinary artisanship.
“The Danny’s concept has always been a big dream of mine,” explains Mr Debono, “so I’m extremely happy to see it come to life.”
The pandemic, with its sweeping impact on the local hospitality industry naturally caused some “unexpected turbulence” in the momentum of Danny’s growth, but also provided “new opportunities and options” for Mr Debono and his colleagues to keep the business moving.
He reflects that at first, “it was tough,” with the establishment starting its life as a dine-in only restaurant, but the company persevered and got through the pandemic, expanding to offer delivery, event catering, office deals, Danny’s at home burger kits and "much more".
Mr Debono then offers a heartfelt thank you to the team at Danny’s and its loyal customers that have shown their support and continue to believe in the brand.
"I would like to say a massive thank you to our team at Danny’s and our loyal customers that have shown support and continue to believe in our brand," he says.
“We value you all and we are extremely grateful for the response we continuously get."
