The UK Gambling Commission announced the suspension of Malta-based Genesis Global’s operating licence pending a review on the gambling operator’s activities.

In a statement, the commission said the decision resulted from “a number of compliance issues” and that the review will centre around suspected breaches of the operator’s licence.

It cited section 116(2)(a) and section 116(2)(c)(i)) of the UK Gambling Act.

Section 116(2)(a) states that the regulator can review a gambling licensee if it has reason to suspect that “activities may have been carried on, in purported reliance on the licence but not in accordance with a condition of the licence”.

Meanwhile, 116(2)(c)(i)) allows the Commission to carry out a review if it suspects the licensee “may be unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities”.

As a result of the licence suspension, Genesis must immediately halt activities on all of its websites in the UK pending the review.

The websites are as follows: Casoola.com, Cassinoplanet.com, Kassu.com, Casinocruise.com, Casinogods.com, Casinojoy.com, Genesiscasino.com, Pelaa.com, Sloty.com, Spela.com, Spinit.com and Vegashero.com.

Genesis has been instructed to allow players to access their accounts so that they may withdraw funds and to clearly note that none of its sites would be accepting bets until further notice.

Genesis Global’s combined remote operating licence covers real event betting, virtual betting and also casino gambling activities.
