After more than two years of hard work, MacroPay has officially been granted its Financial Institution Licence by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth and development.
Announcing the achievement on LinkedIn, MacroPay said the licence reflects its “commitment to the highest standards of governance, compliance and operational excellence” and provides a strong foundation for the next phase of the company’s growth.
The licence will enable MacroPay to continue expanding its capabilities and delivering innovative payment solutions to customers and partners across Europe and beyond.
MacroPay Chief Executive Officer Stephen Reay described the achievement as a major milestone for the company and the culmination of years of work by the entire team.
“This is a huge achievement for MacroPay and represents the culmination of an enormous amount of hard work, dedication and commitment from the entire team,” Mr Reay said.
“For me, today isn’t simply about receiving a licence. It represents the hard work of everyone who has helped build MacroPay and the confidence we have in where we are going next,” Mr Reay said.
“We have ambitious plans ahead, and I’m incredibly excited about what we can now achieve as we continue to grow, innovate and deliver exceptional payment solutions for our clients and partners across Europe and beyond,” the CEO explained.
Jon Bunkell, Director of Operations at MacroPay, said securing the licence was one of the key objectives set for him by the company’s leadership team when he joined MacroPay.
“It has been challenging, demanding and an incredibly rewarding journey, and seeing it become a reality is something I’m immensely proud to have been part of,” Mr Bunkell said.
