Tony Sant, Eden Leisure Group’s longest-serving employee, has retired after over four decades working at the company.

The announcement was made on Tuesday (today) on Eden Leisure Group’s social media, highlighting that four decades of “dedication, laughter, and memories,” wishing him all the best for a “well-deserved new chapter.”

Mr Sant had first joined the company in November 1980 when he was still 18, and since then he has occupied a number of roles within Eden Leisure Group’s accounts department.

The post was accompanied by a video of many of Mr Sant’s colleagues reflecting on his time at the company, with some describing him as an “institution” within the company.

Chairman Ian De Cesare remarked that Mr Sant was always a “totally loyal and dependable person.”

He explained that Mr Sant was not only a key member within the accounts department, but was also always present whenever Eden Leisure Group had an opening, whether it was a “club, a hotel, or an entertainment centre, he was always there.”

“Thank you very much Tony [Mr Sant], because you really helped us get to where we are today. Take care of yourself, have fun, don’t sit at home, and go and do all the things you wanted to do all these years,” Mr De Cesare stated, wishing Mr Sant good luck for the future.

CEO Simon De Cesare said that Mr Sant had joined the company when he was just five, and therefore has known him practically all his life.

“If I was to describe Tony, I would say that he is the most reliable and trustworthy person that we have at the company,” Mr De Cesare continued.

Addressing Mr Sant, Mr De Cesare said: “Tony, I want to thank you very much for all the years of service that you have given us at Eden Leisure Group. You’ve been a pillar of the organisation and have performed many important functions for us, and for that I thank you.”

He wished Mr Sant all the best in his retirement, adding that he hopes this new journey will be “as fulfilling as the past has been.”
