Italian home and personal care goods store Risparmio Casa will be opening its doors for the first time on Wednesday, 31st July (tomorrow), on Constitution Street in Mosta.

This means the brand will join popular Italian and German brands in Lidl and Eurospin in Mosta.

The brand set its eyes on Malta last year, with Italian media reporting plans to open 10 stores across the island within the next five years.

In October, La Stampa said that three out of the 10 stores planned across the islands are scheduled to open this year.

The Mosta store was originally set to open in June, according to a post on their Facebook page.

It will occupy 1000 square metres and will feature home appliances, detergents, textiles, furniture and accessories, kitchen and tableware, storage and organisation items, outdoor and seasonal products and home décor and accessories.

It currently runs a website featuring a leaflet of products, similar to other popular shops in Malta. The store is set to open from 8am till 8pm every day.

Risparmio Casa has 168 outlets in Italy and two in Switzerland with a reported turnover of almost one billion euros. It was founded by the Roman Battistelli brothers Stefano and Fabio.

In comments given to La Stampa, Stefano Battistelli said that in Malta, the company has the possibility of managing the drug store and do-it-yourself (DIY) market present on the islands, that is currently being catered for by small local shops.
