Raphael Aloisio, Director at Deloitte Malta, announced on Friday (today) that he will be retiring at the end of May. The announcement came while he was speaking at the Malta Hospitality Forum.
Mr Aloisio, who is a hospitality sector leader and also conducts the much-anticipated quarterly surveys for the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA), shared that Friday’s speech would be his last at a conference.
MHRA President Tony Zahra said that Mr Aloisio has been “more than a pillar” over the years and went on to describe him as a “driving force” for the hospitality industry. Indeed, he piloted various market intelligence initiatives in the hospitality, retail, gaming and real estate sectors.
Mr Aloisio has been in public practice for over 40 years and has worked with Deloitte Malta since 1987. After seven years within Deloitte’s audit function, he assumed responsibility for the firm’s financial and economic advisory arm and has, over the past 20 years, been involved in a broad range of assignments in areas that range from IPOs, valuations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and debt restructuring, insolvency and company administration, as well as financial modelling.
Aside from being a Certified Public Accountant, Mr Aloisio is also an ACCA holder, as well as a Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants and the Malta Institute of Taxation.
