Business Profile
I play a key role at TradeMalta, where I support management and colleagues, produce informed analysis and generate insights into national and international trends relevant to the organisation’s mission and our clients’ interests.
My research has focused extensively on Malta’s economic development in the 20th century, particularly the role of exports and Foreign Direct Investment. I also authored a book marking the 50th anniversary of the Malta Development Corporation/Malta Enterprise, chronicling its history and evolution.
For several years, I served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta, where I most recently delivered courses on the economic history of Malta in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as on Maltese industry. Alongside my long experience at MDC/Malta Enterprise, I have also spent extended periods at the Customs Department and on the staff of the Special Commissioner for Economic, Financial and Trade Relations with the UK.
