OZO Group has withdrawn its personnel from Doha and suspended operations in the Qatari capital, as uncertainty across the Middle East continues to escalate.

In comments to WhosWho.mt, CEO Fabio Muscat confirms that the company has successfully carried out the withdrawal of its staff from the region, marking a significant shift from its position just weeks ago, when operations were continuing despite heightened tensions.

“For the time being, operations in Doha have been suspended,” Mr Muscat says, adding that the decision was taken in light of the evolving situation on the ground.

He explains that the group will continue to monitor developments closely before making any further decisions regarding its presence in the region.

“Given the increasing uncertainty in the region, we will continue to closely monitor developments and assess any further updates,” he said.

The move comes after OZO Group had previously maintained that its Doha-based operations, run through Valletta Hospitality Services, were functioning normally, supported by contingency planning and coordination with local partners.

The company had also highlighted its commitment to safeguarding employees, a priority that now appears to have guided its decision to withdraw personnel entirely.

OZO Group established its presence in Qatar in 2023 as part of its international expansion strategy, focusing on outsourcing services for the hospitality and tourism sectors. The temporary suspension of operations signals a cautious approach as regional instability continues to unfold.
