From its humble beginnings in Malta, Onpoint Ltd has grown into a truly international software solutions company. With offices now present in Ghana, Tunisia, Czechia, and Nigeria, the company boasts a diverse, multi-cultural team which is bringing a wealth of perspectives and insights, allowing Onpoint to better serve its clients with innovative business software solutions.
The team’s collaboration across continents isn’t just about bridging geographical gaps, but about uniting visions and fostering a culture of inclusivity. To strengthen these ties, Onpoint has been hosting employees from overseas at its Malta headquarters and most recently, they welcomed Samuel Desu Acheampong, a Sales Team Lead from Ghana, who arrived ahead of the construction, architecture, and real estate MARE Summit 2024, where Onpoint introduced its JIRA for Construction software solution to a gathering of industry professionals.

Now marking two and a half years with Onpoint Ltd, Samuel describes his experience with the company as being a journey of continuous learning and growth. He highlights the positivity of working on and promoting software solutions that are genuinely geared towards making teams more productive. Furthermore, he finds satisfaction by the fact that success for Onpoint stems not just from effective software tools, but from the collective efforts of individuals. “I think one of the biggest values I’ve learnt working here, is that when people come together, from diverse cultures, they can really make things happen,” he shares.

The global perspective has been key to Onpoint’s success in tailoring their software to meet client needs across various markets. Samuel elaborates: “Our team discussions are invaluable because they open our eyes to new perspectives, helping us understand different cultural and business contexts. This means we are more attuned to the unique challenges faced by clients worldwide. I think this is what makes our products and marketing efforts more comprehensive and effective.”
This has certainly been the case with the JIRA for Construction product, a comprehensive project management solution designed specifically for construction clients, offering digital scheduling, collaboration, and agile workflows, among many other features.
“My father is a contractor, so I've gained some first-hand experience in construction project management myself. And the entire team has been busy studying global construction practices, learning the fundamentals and identifying commonalities across borders. We're now applying these real-life scenarios to software product management, developing a solution that helps construction teams collaborate more intuitively and boost their productivity," Samuel says.
By providing tools for project documentation, capacity planning, interactive roadmaps, and ideation, JIRA for Construction promises to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. It also offers a centralised platform for real-time commenting and documentation, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among remote teams, wherever they may be based.

Samuel explains that Onpoint's approach has involved deeply understanding how construction teams operate, valuing their perspectives, and collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the development process. Furthermore, recognising that each client has distinct processes and needs, the solution is designed to be customisable, offering flexibility and versatility, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution.
“Through our research, we discovered that three out of four construction projects worldwide are delivered late, which is quite an alarming statistic. This software aims to address that issue by offering clients improved project visibility, streamlined communication, and efficient task management, ultimately boosting productivity and ensuring greater project success,” Samuel explains.

As Sales Team Lead, Samuel is at the forefront of promoting Onpoint’s construction-focused solution to diverse clients. “Currently, no one else is developing solutions specifically for the construction industry, so we are confident clients will see the benefits of having a dedicated tool at their disposal,” Samuel explains. Currently, he and his colleagues are regularly meeting with companies to understand their specific pain points. Through visits, workshops, discovery calls, and industry events, Samuel is optimistic that once construction teams see the product in action, they'll quickly realise its benefits.
Discussing what he’s looking forward to on his exchange visit, Samuel says he is excited to experience the island’s rich history and culture, which he's been reading so much about. He also sees this as yet another opportunity to celebrate the strong points of different cultures coming together, where he and his colleagues can learn from each other: “I think it's important to embrace our differences, which makes work more fun and engaging,” he says. “Onpoint really challenges us to be creative and step out of our comfort zones. We each bring in fresh ideas and then refine them together to create products that work in all of our markets.”
Reflecting on the future of Onpoint and his career within the company, Samuel remains enthused. “At Onpoint, we may sell software, but we focus on people and building relationships with both our internal teams and clients,” he says with a genuine smile. “I truly believe that with our growing presence in international markets, Onpoint's future is only set to become even more colourful and a greater celebration of cultures.”
