As part of the restructuring process undertaken by the Association of Catering Establishments (ACE), Michelle Muscat has been elected President of the organisation.

Ms Muscat is a leading entrepreneur in the catering industry, and has had a varied professional background.

An accountant by profession, Ms Muscat previously served as Executive Officer at the Office of the Prime Minister, Personal Assistant to the Managing Director at Salvo Grima Group and Assistant Financial Controller at the Arrigo Group of Hotels Ltd.

She then returned back to the catering industry, a natural step for someone who was born into a food-loving family, becoming owner and manager of Restaurante La Vela in Pieta.

In 2019, Ms Muscat won the Food and Beverage Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Matthew Pace is the new Vice President, Omar Vella is the new Honorary Secretary and Jon Dalli is the new Honorary Treasurer.

The outgoing president of ACE, Reuben Buttigieg will retain a consultative role within the association.
