On Thursday, Andre Spiteri announced his appointment as ME Malta’s Executive Head Chef. 

ME Malta is a five-star luxury hotel, set to open in the coming months at Mercury Towers in St Julian's.

Andre Spiteri has ample experience in the field, garnering nine years as Head Chef at Hilton Malta. In addition, he occupied the role of Chef De Cuisine at Kitchen Concepts and that of Chef at Hotel Phoenicia Malta, among others.

On LinkedIn, Mr Spiteri describes himself as being skilled in recipe development, Italian and international cuisine, new restaurant openings and banquet operations among many others.

What is ME Malta? 

The hotel is set to have a trio of pool options, a radio rooftop with island views and four food venues among other amenities.

It forms part of Meliá Hotels International’s chain of hotels in St Julian’s along with Hotel Mistral, Hotel Scirocco and Hotel Levante. ME Malta is a major international hotel chain, founded in 1956, which has more than 380 hotels in 40 countries.

The hotel will feature four upscale venues: restaurant, bar as well as a leisure, and event facilities. This includes an exclusive premium Italian restaurant led by chef Gino D’Acampo, Asian grill and cocktail bar.
