Launched in 1998, Dimech Enterprises very fast became synonymous with made-to-measure solutions within the construction industry, providing a sizeable portion of the local industry’s doors, awnings, outdoor furniture, decking needs and more. And, as of the last few years, they have also become one of the premier providers of all tempered glass solutions. What prompted this expansion?

“Many contractors and private clients are nowadays favouring tempered glass over other materials, for various reasons. There’s a definite shift in the aesthetic trends, with aluminium and steel having lost some of their popularity. We identified a gap and a need in the market, and set about ensuring that we offer the best quality glass products at the best value for money,” Managing Director Alan Dimech says.

Alan explains that the company imports all its tempered glass from Europe, so as to ensure that they’re in a position to keep costs significantly lower than the local average. This has enabled the organisation to focus on diversifying its glass solutions to encompass anything that the client may require.

“Our portfolio includes anything that is related to tempered glass, from railings to partitions, walk-on glass, apertures, shower fronts, motorised doors… All solutions are made-to-measure, and we’re proud to say that we work alongside some of the biggest names in construction to deliver large-scale projects,” he explains.

Dimech Enterprises also supplies individual clients who want to add a contemporary, and practical, style to their property. Tempered glass products, Dimech tells me, are more durable and make an area feel more spacious. The material requires less maintenance than steel and - of course - unlike aluminium or steel finishings it won’t obstruct any views. The cherry on the cake? Prices for tempered glass are lower than steel.

“Tempered glass has become increasingly popular and today covers 45 per cent of our business. Clients appreciate the fact that, by sourcing European suppliers we have managed to keep the cost down. And we did this without sacrificing the quality, naturally. Since its inception, Dimech Enterprises is known for its attention to detail, and this has not changed.”

his philosophy has clearly stood the organisation in good stead, with many new clients approaching through word of mouth. Today, Dimech Enterprises has worked with leading banks, hotels, restaurants and cafes, offices and other public buildings. Dimech is keen to point out that this success would not have been possible without the support of a strong team working alongside him.

“The team has been invaluable in this regard. At the moment we are working on expanding our individual client base, as it’s taking off very well. Locally, we can see that the demand is growing  and we’re keen on maintaining our position as leaders in the market for tempered glass solutions, both for large-scale and individual projects. No project is too small or too big, or too different. We’ve created some very distinctive solutions for some of our clients, and we look forward to continuing delivering on our bespoke products,” he concludes.
