On Friday (today), popular Manouche Craft Bakery and Bistro surprised many with the announcement of a 1kg croissant.

Sharing the news on their social media pages, Manouche shared that it will be launching the pastry “soon.”

Ever since Manouche opened its doors in Spinola, St Julian’s, back in 2018, the brand became known for its rich French pastries. Now the business expanded and opened outlets in Valletta, Mosta, Rabat, Gozo and its second outlet in St Julian’s, at Bay Street.

In recent months, the trend of large pastry sweets have been doing the rounds on social media, especially on TikTok.

While some were spotted in the Covent Garden area in London, Paris – the city rich in pastries – has also been flagged for selling giant, rich and flaky pastries.

Following this, tourists from around the world visited the cafés in London and Paris to try to sweets and, as expected, snap a photo or two.

Now, Malta might be next.
