Various Maltese organisations were honoured during the National Supporting Business Awards (NSBA) Ceremony 2025, which took place on 2nd July at Spazju Kreattiv.
The awards, organised by the Ministry for Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects in collaboration with the Commerce Department and the European Commission, aim to acknowledge outstanding initiatives that support local enterprises, particularly SMEs.
During the ceremony, Minister for Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri emphasised that regulations should be designed intelligently to reduce bureaucracy rather than increase the administrative burden.
Minister Schembri highlighted the country’s economic growth over the past decade, stating that Malta’s economy has expanded from €7 billion to €24 billion. He added that this positions Malta to pursue greater ambitions, as reflected in the Vision Malta 2050 strategy, which outlines specific goals to be achieved by 2035.
Among the evening’s top winners, SEM – Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta was awarded First Prize in Section A for its initiative Supporting Enterprises to Unlock their Potential through EU Funds. The organisation donated its monetary prize to Puttinu Cares Foundation.
Tech.mt Foundation secured Second Prize in Section A with its inMalta initiative, donating its prize to the Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA).
The Malta Food Agency received a Special Mention in Section A for its Full Circular Economy in Pitkalija initiative, with its prize donated to Equal Partners Foundation.
