The world of boxing was treated to a highly dramatic fight over the weekend, when 25-year-old British underdog Daniel Dubois lost out to being named heavyweight world champion to Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk in what has been described as a highly controversial decision.

And, while pundits debate whether Dubois’ ferocious right hook was indeed a low blow, Uysk ultimately took home the title, retaining his WBA ‘Super’, WBO and IBF titles.

Behind the team of advisers engaged in assisting Dubois before, during and after the high-profile match is a young Maltese lawyer who has been making a name for himself in London’s legal circles.

London-based Luke Micallef Trigona, in his capacity as a Consultant Solicitor for the Keystone Law, shares with WhosWho.mt that the firm will be challenging the decision, and will be lobbying to get the fight ruled as a no-contest in due course.

"Although the controversial outcome isn’t the one we had hoped for, on a personal level it has been an absolute privilege to act for Daniel in the lead up to this fight. It is a reflection on the strength and capability of the team here at Keystone Law," said the 31-year-old lawyer.

Mr Micallef Trigona qualified as a solicitor in the UK back in 2017. Prior to joining Keystone Law in 2018, he worked in the offshore tax team at boutique Mayfair law firm, Berkeley Law (later acquired by Irwin Mitchell).

At Keystone Law, Mr Micallef Trigona advises high net worth individuals on a wide range of areas such as trusts, wills, lasting powers of attorney, charities, family offices, asset protection, estate planning and trust structuring. In 2019, he was recognised in eprivateclient’s prestigious list of Top 35 Under 35 private client practitioners to watch out for. Eprivateclient is a leading UK website and news service for private client practitioners, including lawyers, accountants and trustees.
