Marilena Gauci has been appointed as Vice President of the Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA).

Announcing the appointment on Monday (today), MEIA shared that in the role, Ms Gauci will contribute substantially to its lobbying and advocacy efforts, as well as leading the implementation of MEIA’s vision and programme.

As Vice President, Ms Gauci looks forward to continuing work hand in hand with members of the Committee “with whom she shares a common vision of fostering a better space, one that offers fairer and greater opportunities for all artists and creatives.”

She is well-versed within the association’s mission and ongoing efforts as she has previously served on MEIA’s Executive Committee as the Head of PR and Communications.  

“Her background and long-standing in theatre, music, entertainment, and television has equipped her with a solid understanding of the creative sectors. Having engaged with these industries from an early age, she is committed to addressing their challenges while advocating for stronger and more resilient creative sectors,” the association commented.

Ms Gauci holds an Honours Degree in Economics and has pursued a Master’s Degree in Behavioural Economics. Additionally, she made “significant contributions to both academia and enterprise” through her work on policy at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, as well as her involvement in national and European funding initiatives at University of Malta.

Additionally, over the past year, she established her own business, emphasising transparency, humanity, and environmental sustainability.
