The absence of a locally hosted boat show in recent years prompted Yachting Malta – a private public partnership between the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Government – to take the initiative and organise a much-needed event to showcase what the local yachting and maritime industry has to offer.

Yachting Malta

Organised by Yachting Malta, with the support of the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, The Malta Boat Show is a direct response to the industry's growing need for an event that highlights the local yachting and maritime sectors. This highly anticipated event is set to become a focal point for the local industry, which is widely recognised as one of Malta’s strongest economic pillars.

A historic setting with maritime roots

The Malta Boat Show will be hosted in the historic city of Cospicua, a location with deep maritime ties stretching back centuries. Known for its rich history in shipbuilding and its strategic importance within Malta's iconic Grand Harbour, Cospicua provides a fitting backdrop for the boat show. The city’s longstanding maritime heritage perfectly complements the event, reinforcing Malta’s role as a Mediterranean hub for maritime activity.

A crucial economic pillar for Malta

The decision to bring back the concept of a Boat Show in Malta reflects Yachting Malta’s understanding of the industry’s vital role in the national economy. Historically, Malta has been a maritime hub for centuries, and the island continues to attract significant investment. Yachting contributes to a variety of sectors, including sport, education, tourism, marine engineering, and yacht refit and maintenance. The Malta Boat Show will bring together Malta’s maritime heritage while also serving as a catalyst for future growth and innovation within the industry.

With around 40 exhibitors confirmed, including a wide array of local businesses representing renowned international brands, this year’s show promises to be a comprehensive display of the latest in maritime innovation, technology, and services.

Supporting local businesses and global brands

Yachting Malta, known for its commitment to supporting and promoting the maritime industry, has ensured that The Malta Boat Show will offer a platform for local businesses to engage with a wider audience while displaying the best of what the local network has to offer. From boat sales to marine supplies, luxury yachting services to technological solutions, The Malta Boat Show will offer visitors a complete experience of the industry’s capabilities.

“As a key hub in the Mediterranean, Malta's reputation in yachting has long been established, and The Malta Boat Show will not only cater to enthusiasts but also solidify the country’s status as a force to be reckoned with in the maritime world. With exhibitors representing the full spectrum of the industry, it is expected to attract a mix of visitors, from industry professionals to yachting aficionados,” commented Yachting Malta Chairman and MP Chris Agius.

At the heart of the Malta Boat Show will be an impressive showcase of more than 70 boats, ranging in size from compact 4-metre vessels to grand 40-metre yachts. This diverse range reflects the breadth of Malta’s maritime industry, catering to various markets, from small boating enthusiasts to high-net-worth individuals interested in luxury yachts.

With such a vast array of boats on display, visitors can expect to see everything from day cruisers and sports boats to larger yachts and sailing vessels. The Malta Boat Show will be an ideal opportunity for prospective buyers, investors, and industry experts to explore the latest models and trends in the maritime world.

Re-establishing Malta’s maritime strength

“The Malta Boat Show is more than just an exhibition—it’s a statement of Malta’s maritime strength and potential. It will serve as a crucial meeting point for businesses, professionals, and enthusiasts, all coming together to drive the industry forward. For Yachting Malta, the goal is clear: to re-establish the Malta Boat Show as a premier event on the maritime calendar and to ensure that Malta continues to leave a mark in such an important industry,” remarked Yachting Malta CEO Michael Mifsud.

With the historic maritime city of Cospicua as its backdrop, the Malta Boat Show is set to be an exciting celebration of Malta’s yachting culture, innovation, and economic strength.
