Malta-based political and management consultancy firm Machia Ltd will close its doors “for good” at the end of this month after challenging market conditions, Founder Edward Cachia shared on Friday. He added that liquidation will happen “right after”.
“Current market conditions made it untenable to keep on operating as a firm,” Mr Cachia explained.
“As I always say, if an idea doesn’t work either change it or kill it, and the changes that were on the table made me unhappy, so therefore it was time to bid farewell to Machia,” he continued.
He added that he’s refraining from posting a “millennial-esque ‘let’s-turn-a-negative-to-a-positive’ post” about why he is liquidating his business, as “companies come and go” and he has “no regrets” about what he aimed to achieve through Machia.
Mr Cachia remarked that he will still be posting on social media on international politics as “it wasn’t just a business tool, but also a passion and an interest,” and the five years Machia operated in were “good” and “enjoyable”.
He also announced that he will be sharing news of his new position within the management consultancy industry in due course.
“Machia is dead, long live Machiavellism,” he concluded.
Founded in 2017, Machia was a political and management consultancy firm with strategy as the core element of its products. The company specialised in various industries and public institutions to find solutions to “achieve the best” out of clients’ organisations, through its young and dynamic team.
Apart from founding Machia, Mr Cachia also worked as Research Analyst at Rizzo Farrugia & Co (Stockbrokers) Ltd, as well as Securities Officer at Sparkasse Bank Malta plc. He also worked as Business Development Assistant at advisory firm Tuning Fork Ltd for over a year, as Market Research Interviewer at professional services company Grant Thornton Malta, and also as Front Office Clerk at security service provider G4S.
He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management from University of Derby, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Western European Studies from University of Malta.
