Farsons Group chairman Louis Farrugia turned 70 on Thursday.

Mr Farrugia, who has led Farsons Group for over 40 years since taking the helm aged 28, is one of Malta’s most prominent business leaders.

He was appointed the National Order of Merit in 2004, recognising his contribution to industry and enterprise in Malta.

In December, Mr Farrugia reflected on his long leadership of Farsons, and expressed confidence in the face of COVID challenges, saying “just as [Farsons] faced other challenges, we’ll go through this one”.

Mr Farrugia was born on 18th February 1951.

In his years, he has served as president and vice-president of the Confederation of Private Enterprise, vice-president of the Federation of Industries, and as both president and vice-president of the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
