Farsons Group chairman Louis A. Farrugia has claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic is “doubtlessly” the Group’s biggest challenge since the Second World War.
Mr Farrugia made the assertion in an interview conducted by Joseph Farrugia, Director General of the Malta Employers Association.
In a snippet released to LinkedIn, Mr Farrugia, who has led the company for over 40 years, first taking over at the helm at 28, said that the company has experienced many challenges throughout its long history.
“Just as we faced other challenges, we’ll go through this one,” he said.
“God willing, in the near future we will return to our path. We will be able to export, increase work, and expand to other spaces even within the Maltese market.”
Mr Farrugia expressed full faith in the Group’s team and management, saying the company now has “a great mix” of both family and professional people.
He indicated that therein lies the future of Farsons – “management by professionals, with the family having a guiding role as caretakers”.
