Lidl has, for the second consecutive year, been awarded the international Top Employer award. It was presented by the Top Employers institute, a highly regarded independent body with offices around the world.
Established more than 25 years ago, the Institute has certified over 1,600 organisations in 119 countries/regions. The organisation claims to have “certified Top Employers positively impact the lives of over 6,900 000 employees globally.”
Lidl was bestowed with the award last week. On social media, the company said:
“We put the well-being of our employees at the centre of our corporate strategy on a daily basis. Our colleagues' welfare is the pediment on which we strive to create a stimulating and constructive work environment.
“This is why, for the second consecutive year, Lidl Malta has been certified Top Employer! A certification that not only represents the achievement of a goal, but a new starting point that pushes to always do better!”
89.7 Bay reports Lidl Malta regional director Mark Farrugia as having said: “Being able to obtain this important certification for the second consecutive year is an outstanding achievement that highlights out attention to people working with us on [a] daily basis.
“Now we want to continue to work in this direction, considering our people as the most important asset we have.
“Today, the labour market is rapidly changing and every company has to be able to attract and keep talent leveraging on exceptional working conditions, tailor-made programs and shining best practices.”
The company employs around 350 staff in eight supermarkets across Malta and Gozo.
