On Wednesday (today) KPMG in Malta announced that its Associate Director and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Lead, Rachel Decelis, has been awarded the KPMG Global Emerging Talent Award.
This award was presented by KPMG’s Head of Global ESG John McCalla-Leacy, at the company’s Global ESG Awards, its first ‘ESG: Global Connect’ event.
“Ms Decelis has been recognised on a global scale for her brilliant work in leading and building KPMG in Malta’s ESG practice,” said the Maltese branch.
Ms Decelis is a chemist and chartered environmentalist with 18 years of experience in sustainability.
She joined KPMG in Malta in 2022 as ESG lead after having garnered experience both in the environmental consultancy and regulatory sectors.
Since then, she led KPMG Malta’s ESG efforts and managed a number of engagements with private and public sector clients including in hospitality, gaming, retail, and financial services.
Additionally, she also provides internal and external ESG training, is “an internationally sought-after” speaker on sustainability matters, coordinates the ‘Our Impact Plan (OIP) Forum’ at KPMG Malta, and has authored and co-authored numerous thought leadership pieces on sustainability.
She specialises in ESG reporting, ESG strategy and climate change and is the Climate and Net Zero lead for a sub-region of KPMG across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
KPMG Malta congratulated Ms Decelis for this achievement, “which has positioned the firm’s ESG work on a global level.”
