On Thursday (today), KM Malta Airlines announced the signing of a unilateral codeshare agreement with KLM, the flag carrier of the Netherlands.

This agreement will see KLM placing its code on KM Malta Airlines' eight weekly services between Malta and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

KM Malta Airlines notes that this initiative opens “exciting opportunities” for both airlines to expand their networks and offer enhanced travel experiences to their customers.

Passengers flying with KM Malta Airlines and KLM can travel seamlessly, from check-in at their departure airport to baggage claim at their destination.

“This partnership not only strengthens KM Malta Airlines’ presence in the market but also provides passengers with increased connectivity and travel options. KM Malta Airlines eagerly looks forward to working closely with KLM to deliver exceptional travel experiences to its customers,” said a spokesperson for Malta’s soon-to-be national airline.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was established in 1919 and is considered the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name. KLM, along with KLM Cityhopper forms part of KLM Group. It has a network of 92 European cities and 70 intercontinental destinations.
