He remarked that the aircraft landed in Malta early on Tuesday, having arrived from the Airbus facility in Toulouse.

The Airbus A320neo is one of the most popular aircraft families in the world. First launched in 2010, over 10,500 aircraft from this family have been ordered, with more than 3,400 being delivered as of June 2024.

KM Malta Airlines’ new A320neo’s first flights are scheduled for Friday (today), travelling to Rome Fiumicino, Munich, and Catania.

“By the end of 2024, our fleet will consist of eight homogenous A320neos with an average fleet age of 2.5 years,” Mr Curmi announced.

“Well done to everyone involved in this delivery,” he continued.

KM Malta Airlines’ eight-aircraft fleet will have a cabin that averages 168 total saleable seats with up to 36 business class seats. The modern aircraft offer superior operating economics and better environmental performances with reduced CO2 emissions per passenger and lower noise pollution.

KM Malta Airlines started operations on 31st March 2024 as Malta’s national airline after its predecessor, Air Malta, ceased operations the day before.
