Experienced sales and events professional Katya Saliba has been appointed Sales Manager at upscale hotel Hyatt Regency Malta, she announced on Tuesday.
Prior to her new role, she served as Senior Sales Manager of Events and Group Operations at hotel and real estate company Corinthia Group for almost three years. Ms Saliba also served as Sales and Marketing Manager at Is-Suq tal-Belt for a year-and-a-half.
Before delving into sales and marketing, Ms Saliba focused on events management, spending almost nine years at business communication specialists and barcode creators GS1 Australia. During her time there, she first served as Senior Advisor of Standards Liaison, before being promoted to Senior Events Coordinator and subsequently to Events Manager.
She also served as Business Manager for more than five years at GS1’s branch in Malta, during which she was tasked with setting up business strategy and managing its projects, running the company’s events in Malta, along with other responsibilities.
Over the course of her professional career, she has worked on organisation rebrands, new products and services launches, and also more than 700 events.
Ms Saliba holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management and Finance from University of Malta, as well as a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing from Digital Marketing Institute. Additionally, she is also qualified in Food Allergy and Intolerance Training from Food Standards Agency, as well as Food Handlers’ Training – Category B from HNS Consultancy Services.
