Identity Malta has announced its appointment of Mark Mallia as CEO, succeeding Anton Sevasta, who served in the role for four years.

Taking to social media to detail the appointment, Identity Malta explained that Mr Mallia has occupied a number of managerial posts, including in the Armed Forces of Malta, where he served as Deputy Commander.

He also has a strong educational background, having graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Malta.

Established in 2013, Identity Malta is tasked with providing and administrating matters relating to passports, visa, identity documents, work and residence documents and the registration of public deeds and acts of civil status.

Mr Sevasta joined the body in 2013, serving as Chief Information Officer for over four years, before being promoted to Acting CEO in 2017.

Identity Malta thanked him for his service and said it wishes him every success in his new role.
