The HSBC Bank Malta Foundation has once again joined forces with local schools, clients and staff members to support a number of NGOs across Malta through a donation drive organised earlier last week ahead of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
The initiative brought together HSBC employees and six local schools to collect a range of essential items for 19 NGOs.
The participating schools were St Theresa College – Mrieħel, St Claire College – Sir Adrian Dingli Middle and Secondary School – Pembroke, St Thomas More College – Carlo Diacono, St Ignatius College – Ħandaq Secondary, the Sannat Primary and Resource Centre, and Anton Agius Rabat Primary School.

The NGOs benefiting from the initiative included Life Network Foundation Malta, S.T.A.N.D., LOOP, Dar Bjorn, St Jeanne Antide Foundation, SOAR, Dar il-Kaptan, YMCA Malta, MCAST Student Support Services, Smiling with Jerome, Malta Trust Foundation, RISE Foundation, Fondazzjoni Sebħ, Inspire, The Soup Kitchen OFM Valletta, Dar Merħba Bik, The Ukrainian Community in Malta, Caritas Malta and Dar tal-Providenza, together with support directed towards the Valletta community.
According to HSBC Malta Foundation, the donated items will contribute towards the organisations’ ongoing community assistance programmes and projects.
Commenting on the initiative, Glenn Bugeja, Head of Corporate Sustainability for HSBC Malta, said: “We are deeply honoured to facilitate this collaboration between our schools and partner NGOs. The generosity and spirit of community shown by our partners and participants are truly inspiring.”
“It’s a privilege to support these organisations that do so much for our community, especially as we celebrate Mother’s Day and the upcoming Father’s Day,” he added.
The initiative also received support from a group of women from the Munxar community, who donated 20 handmade crochet blankets prepared specifically for the occasion.
