Days after the Government announced non-essential travel between Malta and Gozo due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gozo Channel Operations Limited launched a new schedule which comes into force on Monday.

The first trip in the Gozo Channel’s new timetable leaves Mġarr at 1.30am, with the first ferry from Ċirkewwa departing at 2am. The last crossing from Gozo departs at 11.45pm and the one from Malta at 00.20am.

The company will be making 24 trips from Gozo and another 24 from Malta.

The schedule in place provides for 26 trips from each port, the first from Mġarr departing at 1.30am and from Ċirkewwa at 00.20am, the last from Gozo leaving at 11.45pm and from Malta at 11.05pm.

Under the new timetable, dangerous goods trips will be operated on Tuesdays and Thursday, except for public holidays, leaving Gozo at 6.50am and 12.15pm and Malta at 7.35am and 1pm.

So far, cargo, ancillary and dangerous goods trips were operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, leaving Mġarr at 6.50am (dangerous goods) and 1pm (dangerous goods) and Ċirkewwa at 7.35am (dangerous goods), 12.15pm (cargo) and 1pm (dangerous goods).
